SERVICES

As a non-profit organization, the Chapitre de Lafayette encourages the community to help us in promoting and preserving the Cajun French culture and heritage. We meet every first Thursday of the month at 7 P.M. at La Poussiere Cajun Dance Hall in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana to discuss the happenings of our chapter and the National and Le Cajun Boards. After our meetings we "Lassiez les bons temps rouler" with authentic cajun bands, cajun dancing, food, and friends until 9 P.M.

We invite you to join us at our meetings for a true Cajun good time!

New Dawn Award

To get our youth more involved, the Chapitre de Lafayette awards a young male or female between the ages of 7 and 16 with the New Dawn Award at the Le Cajun Festival in August. To be eligible for this award, the boy or girl must have given some type of service to our chapter in the past year. This service can include, but is not limited to, volunteering of time, playing a Cajun instrument, dancing, and speaking the Cajun French language. If you know of anyone who is worthy of this chapter award please email us with attention to Henry Sonnier, New Dawn Chairman.
